Luke Cage Episode 2 "Code of the Streets"
This episode starts out with Luke standing with a gun to his head. Then we cut to the officer covering the junk yard murders trying to piece together what happened exactly. Trying to get an idea of who killed who.
All the while Luke is at his day job at the barber shop when Mr. Stokes comes in. Luke and Pops(the barber) had been discussing how Stokes was shaking down the neighborhood for votes. Luke notices the guy from the club. He is with Stokes, and they were discussing Chico.
Pop talks Luke into trying to find Chico, and getting him away from Stokes. Pop's uses his past and his abilities to talk him into it. Luke finally agrees to do so. Luke and the cops both are trying to find Chico.
Meanwhile Stokes is trying to make amends and bringing back money to Mariah Stokes while searching for Chico as well. She is owed the second half of the money he has.
Luke finally succeeds in finding Chico, knowing that he didn't kill the other two victims. He is trying to protect him from Stokes/Cotton mouth. However Chico isn't going for it.
Luke learns about Pop's past and admits that he is sick of running from who he really is and who he can be. When he goes back into the shop Chico is there in the back. The cops are still on the search and are now going to the barber shop to find him. Luke finds out that the woman Misty that he picked up from the bar is a cop who is after Chico and working on the same case that he was.
This episode had about the same amount of action as the first. We lost a cast member with Pop's being shot and killed during an attack on the barber shop. Stokes found out about Pop's and tossed one of his men off a roof for killing him. His death may finally push Luke to being the hero he's meant to be. At the end of the episode we cut back to the opening scene with Luke being held up at gun point. He admits that he didn't step up and says that he will be from now on.
Episode 2 continue the story with everyone trying to find Chico and the money which they eventually did. It was a great episode with the story arc, still little action but I got the feeling that after this episode the action will pick up.
This episode deserves a 7/10
We lost Pop'a
Luke decides to start stepping up.
We see that Stokes/ Cottonmouth has a soft side
The story so far is great!
