The Flash started out right were the season one finale left off. Our hero The Flash played by Grant Gustin has saved Central City and is now being honored for stopping the singularity. We see a flashback of what happened exactly to close the singularity. Spoiler Alert if you haven’t seen the opening episode we lose Ronnie to the singularity.
So during the singularity we lost Ronnie who I don’t think is really dead, but we have also lost Eddie who sacrificed himself to save Barry and the others from the Reverse Flash. Barry is dealing with this while trying to accept that fact that he was the furthest thing that had truly saved Central City that day.
Barry gets a call to go out to a nuclear plant where he finds a body who is being played by guest star Adam Copeland or as some of you may know him WWE’s Rated R Superstar Edge, or well that’s who he used to be he has since retired and taken up acting as a full time job. He’s not half bad and could be a convincing super villain, but I am just not digging him as Atomsmasher.
Barry does accept the key to the city which was offered to him by the mayor, but was attacked by Atomsmasher at the same time. He was strong and Barry was unable to stop him. Not sure why Barry is having such an issue being a hero, but he does end up having to retreat to regroup and make a plan to stop the Atomsmasher.
Barry also is having a hard time bringing the team back together since the incident with Wells, but ends up having to go to Kaitlyn Snow who now works at another lab because of everything that happened with Ronnie and Reverser Flash. Cisco also went to Kaitlyn for help as well to draw her back to the team. I mean I could understand Barry not trusting the other members around him and wanting to do everything solo he had really faced death head on with the singularity and the Reverse Flash.
After getting the team back together, Barry is able to come up with a plan to stop Atomsmasher. He decided to lure him to a reactor so he could overload him with Radiation. This would kill Atomsmasher to stop him. His dying words were that Zoom had sent him, with a promise to send him back home if he killed the Flash.
Throughout the episode Barry had met with an executor over Harrison Wells’s estate, Star Labs and all. He had left it all to Barry, which was weird because I mean really Barry was his nemesis after all and he hated the fact that he existed. But the one thing that brought the Dr. Wells/Reverse Flash some redemption in death is that on camera he did confess to killing Nora Allen, which is what Barry needed to get his dad out of prison.
Barry Allen had finally accomplished what he had set out to do over a decade ago he had helped Henry Allen get out of prison. Even though it was to see him leave, at least Barry had that feel of accomplishment with getting his dad out.
The episode would end in Star Labs where we would meet Jay Garrick. The Golden Age Flash of Earth 2. He was his Earth’s Flash, but here he was powerless for now. He will either have to recreate the event that made him the Flash or he already is the Flash and coming through the singularity from Earth 2 has zapped his abilities and its taking a very long time to rebuild them, seems to me he is still healing quickly.
So for this episode we see Barry take on a new Meta Human, and would eventually kill him ending his threat to Central City. We also Barry decide that it's best to work with Team Flash again because without help he wouldn't survive. We learn of the new big bad Zoom, who we really haven't seen much of at this point.
For this episode I give a 10/10--- I was wanting so much more after this show went off. I cant wait to watch the rest of this season.
