The Flash Luck be a Lady
In the recent episode of the Flash Barry and team are faced with a new Meta Human who has the ability to control her luck, and reverses everyone else’s luck. For example when Hazard as she was called is around someone they have terrible luck, and nothing happens to her except good things.
Barry and company have already faced one new Meta that wasn’t present during the particle accelerator incident, and have no idea how they were created. They do however find out during this episode, which trust me was one of the better parts of the episode. Another great part is the return of Harry! He shows back up to deliver some bad news to Wally, and decides to stay because he is apparently not wanted on his Earth. During the events with Hazard things start to go crazy. Iris and Barry lose wedding venues, Joes house starts to fall apart with pipes bursting and door handles breaking, and of course Wally’s issue.
Harry has come to deliver Wally a breakup cube, which is used on Earth 2 to breakup with someone apparently. Jessie used one to breakup with Wally. With this news Wally decides to leave. Which could be good for the character, not that I dislike Wally or anything but he can’t keep living in Barry’s shadow. This segment was another great part of the show last night, having Wally leaving could allow him to be the hero he was meant to be.
One of the better things of the episode is that Barry didn’t have to be told to run faster, or that he was fast enough to defeat Hazard. He did fall on coins, and marbles which is funny, but seeing him be less dependent on Star Labs has me hopeful that he’s finally becoming the hero he should be.
I felt like this episode provided a lighter tone, while also revealing that Team Flash is just a little smarter than the Thinker gives them credit for. They figured out where the metas were coming from, who the metas were exactly and have already stopped two of the potential bus load. So that’s a start.
I am also glad to see Harry back, the first two episodes had no Tom Cavanaugh and I just didn’t really like it. I feel like he could be a big help with team Flash, and honestly should be in charge instead of Iris. He did however come up with the plan to stop Hazard, using the particle accelerator.
The end of this episode really got me. Through the show all this bad stuff seemed to be happening to Joe, well there was one more surprise left. In the closing scenes Cecile was working on the house when Joe got home. She sat down and told Joe she had changed her mind about leaving the house. She then revealed that she is pregnant. Joe just kind of sat there speechless as the show went to the credits!
I give this episode of the Flash 6/10. While it had its good moments, I feel like it wasn’t the best it could have been. The villain was subpar, one minute she has terrible luck the next minute she has great luck. I feel like this only serves the plot because of the 12 Meta human ordeal with The Thinker. Even though the episode had a lighter tone, I feel like it may have went over the top and was just a little goofy.
I have no complaints about season 3 with the whole Savitar saga and sometimes I feel like we need to see some darkness in these shows. You can’t just have light hearted without the darkness that gets boring after a while! Season 4 has been great so far!
