Spider-Man Homecoming
Spider-Man Homecoming is a joint production by Marvel and Sony to bring the Spider-Man universe into the MCU. I know Spider-Man had a part in Captain America Civil War, but this is the characters first time solo on the MCU. Which really he wasn't solo because Happy Hogan and Tony Stark were in this movie with him, mostly as guidance and moral support. Anyways the movie stars Tom Holland, Marissa Tomei, Robert Downey Jr. and Michael Keaton.
The movie starts out as a flashback to Avengers. It was after the Battle of New York and Adrian Toomes had a group of men to salvage all of the alien tech. Of course right after a government group came in and shut them out and this sort of started an obsession at getting back at Tony Stark and all of the rich people and government who were against them. Now that seems like a good idea, but how would they do that's? He created the winged costume and became the Vulture.
Now for the biggest plot hole it seems in the marvel universe. After the introduction of the Vulture we see a text of "8 years later Flash up on the screen" and Happy and Peter are going through New York when Peter first got his Spider-Man suit during his appearance in Civil War. It also shows bits and pieces sort of a flash back to Civil War.
During the film we see Peter dealing with a lot. The first thing is the fact that he's becoming this hero in New York and is starting become popular. He seems to want to live up to that popularity, but doesn't quite know how. He doesn't want to upset his aunt or Tony Stark, and he's constantly calling or texting Happy who doesn't even respond to him. We can really see that Peter is trying to be a hero, but also fighting depression or possibly just disappointment because going from fighting with and against the Avengers to fighting street thugs is difficult at 15 I imagine.
The film really is focused on Peter becoming his own hero. How he fits into school after the events of Civil War, and how he can keep his secret without everyone finding out. The fight scenes were great and the film was great over all. In the end Spider-Man takes out the bad guy, but you're going to have to watch to figure it out. I don't want to give away to many spoilers.
I hope Spider-Man Homecoming is a big hit and we get to see Tom Holland play the part for a while. He was great as both Peter Parker and Spider-Man. While there was some things wrong with the film such as the 8 years later thing mentioned above, there was a lot that was good about it too. Robert Downey Junior wasn't in the movie as much as I thought which was good, shows that Marvel has faith in Holland to be carrying his own project. Marissa Tomei was excellent as Aunt May! The actors played their parts perfectly. Michael Keaton to me was probably
the best out of all the actors him as a bad guy is perfect!
This movie deserves a perfect score, but because of Flash Thompson being dramatically changed, and no Spider Sense I will give it an 8/10! Go watch it and enjoy!
