The men waited at the gate, with the orders to defend the kingdom and the castle at all costs. Valon and his men were at the gate, they were trying to breach but had no luck. His men nor him could break through the walls or the gate. They had to come up with another plan of getting inside.
The only way to move into the castle would be going into the caverns below. They had to go around three miles from the gate for the cavern access which goes from the sea underneath the castle. The move would be risky, but Valon new his way around and this would be a sneak attack of sorts. He led the group to the bank, walked them through to the cavern entrance with ease.
"Be watchful, this was to easy!" Valon instructed.
"Your leading us up under the castle?"
"Are you mad?"
"We are all going to be killed!"
The men had some sort of question or disagreement with the current plan, but the group continued onward. The caverns were low at first, but the deeper the group went the larger the area was. Finally the group came to a small steam with a set of stairs. The stairs led to the castle floor.
"Listen, we go to the castle floor and we kill everyone we encounter!"
"Valon are you sure?"
"Yes! We need to ensure victory and close them in, if not we won't survive this!" Valon replied.
The men moved up each flight of stairs, bearing the entrance to the castle. They could hear the crackling of fire and voices. The voices and the crackling grew louder with each footstep. Valon stopped the men just short of the entrance.
Valon whispered:
"Have your weapons at the ready because once I open that door we will be attacking!"
Valon shoved the door open, stepped aside and let the men go up first. He followed closely behind the group. He was using the small group of men as a shield, concealing him away from the castle guards. Valon directed the men to a safe corridor to go over the plan.
